Kareem and the Coach are back for another Friday as they did back into the unpredictable happenings around this very unique NBA playoff race. Between LeBron James operating on a super human level, Kyrie Irving out for the season and John Wall back on the floor the scope of the playoffs continues to come into focus.

Kareem and the Coach is a weekly sports talk show that balances sports culture and the biggest news in the sports world featuring exclusive guests, specialty segments, on location live shows, special guest hosts and social media interaction.

The combined experiences of the hosts along with their dynamic exchanges and personas make this a very entertaining show. As a former NBA player with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kareem Rush played with four hall of fame players which provides him with a unique lens in which to examine both professional and college sports. As a former basketball coach turned producer and filmmaker, Eric Newman brings his knowledge in multiple fields to the equation as he and Kareem both will intertwine film, music and television into many of their conversations.

Kareem Rush and Eric Newman

Kareem is a pro athlete who played for five NBA franchises (L.A. Lakers 1st Round Draft Pick 2002, Charlotte Bobcats, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and L.A. Clippers) and who is known for what has been called his "lethal" 3-point shot. He is also an R and B recording artist and entrepreneur with a long track record of community activism. His charitable work in the areas of anti-bullying, youth sports, and access to affordable health care has focused on underserved communities and culminated in two major altruistic endeavors: commitment to the healthy psychosocial development of young athletes and to the long-term financial viability of retired pro athletes as a founding executive of Kid Friendly Sports, and commitment to black philanthropy via The Give Black Foundation.

Eric Newman is a video producer, director and content creator who has worked in basketball, media and production. A lifelong sports and film enthusiast, he has combined his passions to grow a unique career working with the likes of Showtime Sports, The Robot Company, Uninterrupted, ESPN, DraftKings, Bleacher Report, New Balance, Nike, Five-Star Basketball and more. He is currently involved in several new productions including Top Dawgs (the origins of the Cleveland Browns Dawg Pound culture) and both a documentary and feature film spotlighting The Jersey 4, which explores the racial profiling incident which occurred on the NJ Turnpike in the spring of 1998, and its aftermath.
