At this hour: More sellers have cut their asking prices on NYC apartments the week after Labor Day - than over any other week in NYC history, including the recession, according to a new report from several listing websites. Asking prices fell on 774 NYC apartment listings, exceeding the previous record of 713 for the week of March 22, 2009. The figure from the week ending September 9th represents 4.9 percent of all NYC apartments and houses listed for sale that week. The median price cut for the week was $50,000. Also at this Hour: I have a very special guest in the studio this morning. Diane Ramirez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halstead Real Estate. She is one of the founders of Halstead along with Clark Halstead in the fall of 1984. We will talk about the current market trends in NYC, what inspired Diane and her team to rebrand the company significantly earlier this year and the technology push within the industry that has become very competitive. I became interested in a real estate career in the mid-1990s while buying and selling Manhattan co-ops and condos for my own personal real estate projects (renovating and selling), and found it to be an exciting industry. I decided to make Real Estate a full time profession and I've never looked back.

I've made appearances on 'Sweat Equity' on the DIY network as one of their pricing experts, and have been featured on 'House Hunters' on HGTV and I'm working on an interactive web/blog portal where I will be hosting a weekly 'over the net' Real Estate program featuring everything New York City. I have been quoted in NY Magazine, NY Post, NY Times, QUEST, The Real Deal, and Broker's Weekly.
