The importance of fatherhood has gained national attention for very alarming statistics. The absence of fathers in America has reached epidemic levels. Children need the love, acceptance and guidance from their fathers as well as their mothers in order to feel secure, develop and thrive physically, emotionally, and educationally. If we are concerned about kids, we need to be concerned with what is happening with their dads. The National Fatherhood Initiative was founded to address this very issue and uses a three "E" strategy to accomplish father involvement: Educate, Equip and Engage.
