Episode Description
The buzz: “You cannot endow even the best machine with initiative; the jolliest steamroller will not plant flowers” (Walter Lippmann). Technology is moving at the speed of light, with machine learning, augmented reality, and 3D printing impacting our lives right now. But where is all this headed in the near and far future? The experts speak. Josh Bernstein, Dell EMC: “I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should go do something else wonderful…Just figure out what’s next” (Steve Jobs). Gray Scott, SeriousWonder.com: “Artificial intelligence will reach human levels by around 2029. Follow that out further to, say, 2045, we will have multiplied the intelligence, the human biological machine intelligence of our civilization a billion-fold” (Ray Kurzweil). Jeremy C. Thomas, Carom: “Technology is a big destroyer of emotion and truth. Auto-tuning doesn’t do anything for creativity...” (Jack White). Join us for Designing the Future: Tech Trends Impact.
