The late President Richard Milhous Nixon
The late President Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974, when he became the only president to resign the office. Nixon had previously served as a Republican U.S. Representative and Senator from California and as the 36th Vice President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. Nixon also was the President who destroyed United States money as defined in the Constitution. His August 15, 1971 speech in which he announced the detachment of gold from the dollar will be played on the October 22, 2013 show of Turning Hard Times into Good Times.
