Marc Porter

Marc Porter created the Common Ground Model while working on his Ph.D. in organizational communication at Ohio University. He has spent his career leading academic programs and directing corporate learning and development strategies. As an Organizational Development consultant, he applies the Common Ground Model to facilitate improvements in job satisfaction, employee retention, quality, productivity, and increased promotions of underrepresented talent into leadership positions. His model has also been used to navigate diversity and inclusion initiatives and frame feminine approaches to collaborative leadership. He is an avid motorcyclist who is fortunate to live in Northern California with its countless miles of mountain roads punctuated by redwood trees, ocean views, and pear and wine-grape orchards. His children are spread from coast to coast across four states. When not reading, writing, or riding, he tends to his two dogs and enjoys watching movies with his wife, Elin.
