Jamiere Abney
Jamiere Abney is Associate Dean of Admission and Coordinator of Outreach for Opportunity & Inclusion at Colgate University. He leads diversity and equity recruitment strategies for the university. Abney has re-focused staff training to immerse equity across the recruitment and evaluation process. Through his leadership, Colgate enrolled its most diverse first-year class in its 200 year history in the fall of 2020. Jamiere is a 2012 graduate of Willamette University where he studied psychology and was a decorated four-year member of the football program. Jamiere returned to his alma mater to join the admission staff in 2014. As a first-generation college graduate, Jamiere has sought opportunities to be a reliable support for promising young scholars seeking achievement through difficult circumstances. Jamiere earned his Master’s in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2017.
