Melissa Spiers, MBA
Melissa Spiers has been the Chief Operations Officer at Retreat Healthcare Since January 2019. She is responsible for a family of care services related to the care of seniors living with dementia, including 3 assisted living facilities, a hospice program and a non-medical home service agency. Melissa’s expertise in operations is rivaled only by her expertise in dementia care. Since 1998 she has worked with, and for the benefit of, those living with dementia. Her work with the Alzheimer’s Association as Outreach Director for New Mexico (2010-2014) has continued with her service as a board member. Her association work was followed by her position as Administrator for a facility called North Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. As Chief Operations Officer for Retreat Healthcare she is now overseeing several companies that offer a true continuum of care services for those aging with dementia. Melissa has served on the board of the New Mexico Association for Continuity of Care (NMACC), Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD), New Mexico Guardianship Association (NMGA) and as the Development Chair for the Alzheimer’s Association, New Mexico Chapter. With the support of her wonderful family, Corbin and her two children, Brendan and Maddie, Melissa also feels honored to be a family caregiver to her own parents.
