Alexander Wong
Alexander Wong is currently a PhD student at Oregon State University in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology. Alex got his undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. After Alex completed his undergraduate degree, Alex started a master's degree at Virginia Tech in plant pathology investigating using biological control to manage crown gall disease of wine grapes in Virginia. During his time at Virginia Tech, Alex developed a passion for plant pathology and wanted to continue his graduate student career as a Ph.D. student at Oregon State where he now works on integrated pest management and fungicide resistance of fungal disease of wine grapes in Oregon. His current projects include studying the efficacy and feasibility of using UVC light as a disease management tool.
