Brenna Berman
Brenna Berman is CEO and founder of Executive Director of City Tech, an urban solutions accelerator that tackles problems too big for any single sector or organization to solve alone. With an ecosystem of partners, City Tech has launched new solutions to manage urban flooding, map underground infrastructure, reduce congestion, and use economic transaction data to inform public investments. Brenna served in Chicago Mayor Emanuel’s administration as Chief Information Officer for the City and Commissioner for the Department of Innovation & Technology. In that time, she led the implementation of the Mayor’s vision of data-driven resident services and of a more efficient, effective, and innovative City government. Brenna delivered on the commitment to a robust open data program, integrated advanced analytics into many departments, drove innovation for the City through unique partnerships and with the University of Chicago, realized the vision of urban-scale sensing with the Array of Things.
