David McCorkle
David McCorkle, LCSW is the Cofounder and Senior Faculty of the Center for Trauma Resilient Communities at Crossnore Communities for Children in North Carolina. David is a veteran Broadway performer and uses theater, song, and movement techniques in his therapy practice as well as in trainings and community team building. He has been an advocate for therapeutic theater groups for many years and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for promoting creative therapy in agencies in New York City. He continues to perform as a Narrator with Caroline Borderies’ Shadow Puppet Theater at Stonybrook University’s Charles B. Wang Center. David is the co-author of several training curriculums, including Learning SELF Through Films, Learning From Our Heroes, and a Train the Trainer Manual for the Center for Trauma Resilient Communities.
