Elizabeth Gauffreau
Elizabeth Gauffreau is a fiction writer in poet’s clothing. Eschewing the practical, she holds a BA in English/Writing and an MA in English/Fiction Writing. Her path as a fiction writer and poet began with being read to as a child and reading William Faulkner’s “Barn Burning” in the 9th grade. Family and place provide her main sources of inspiration. She has published a novel, Telling Sonny, and a collection of photopoetry, Grief Songs: Poems of Love & Remembrance. She is currently working on a novel, The Last Poor Farm, based on the closing of the last poor farm in Vermont in 1968, and a collection of haiku and photography, Simple Pleasures, focused on northern New England. Liz's professional background is in nontraditional higher education, including academic advising, classroom and online teaching, curriculum development, and program administration.
