Christina Cavazos
Christina Cavazos began her career in higher education in 2009. She currently serves as the Director of Curriculum in one of the largest Texas community colleges with a student population of over 26,000. During her time at this college, she started as a Curriculum Specialist and worked her way up to a director where she oversees many of the College’s essential processes including course scheduling, syllabi management, course evaluations, curriculum planning, and program development. Under her leadership, the department facilitates the process of developing new degree and certificate programs responsive to workforce needs and the development of academic degrees for transferability to four-year universities. She also serves as the College’s liaison with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, as the institutional representative for the Higher Education Regional Council, and as a board member for the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators (TCCIA) conference. Christina also worked in the staffing area of the Human Resources Department where she played a key role in the onboarding of new staff and faculty and the review of credentials for compliance with the college’s regional accreditor. She earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration – Finance from the University of Texas – Pan American.
