Sara Freeman Smith is CEO of U R Gems, Author/Speaker & Disability Advocate. She grew up in the South in the inner city to an unwed mother and was raised by elderly godparents. In spite of her circumstances, she graduated with honors from University of Southern California. She pursued a successful career in the Human Resources/Recruiting field for 40+ years helping individuals navigate the employment jungle and pursue their career goals. Sara recruited people from under-represented areas to find jobs in the traditional workforce by providing practical tools, advice and encouragement. She reluctantly wrote her first self-help book 25 years ago. Now in its third edition, she is on a mission after suddenly losing her sight 20 years ago to encourage others to pursue their purpose and passion regardless of their circumstances!
