September 11th, 2001: Value Heart in the Digital Revolution
October 15, 2018
Hosted by Dave Gerber
Our guest was at the epicenter of the event on 9/11/2001 doing his part in the bunker for the White House while the attacks were happening. In this episode we hear his firsthand account of the ordeal, what he learned, the idea of freedom vs safety, the role of the Patriot Act and more. We also are reminded that it is the heart of humans that triumphed that day and the minute by minute account is riveting. In 2007, Lt. Col. Darling retired from the U.S. Marine Corps with over twenty years of active duty service. He flew attack helicopters in the first Gulf War, and in Somalia, Africa, in support of Operation Restore Hope. In June 1998, he was selected to fly as a presidential pilot with Marine Helicopter Squadron One and in October 2000, was handpicked to work for the White House, Airlift Operations Department. He supported the President, Vice President and National Security Advisor inside the President's Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) on September 11, 2001.
